- Neonatal nurse practitioners
- Physician assistants
- Registered nurses
- Respiratory therapists
- Pharmacists
- Occupational and physical therapists
- Lactation consultants
- Social workers
- Managed by a specially-trained transport team and equipment when infants are born at another hospital but require the higher level of care provided at L&M
The state-of-the-art NICU design includes:
- Large, private bed spaces
- Individual environmental controls
- Centralized monitoring.
The bed spaces contain all the necessary specialized technologic equipment, but still provide ample space for family visits in a calm, quiet and private environment.
The staff of the L&M NICU is committed to providing family-centered care, including:
- Unrestricted parental visiting
- Family participation in the “hands-on” care of their infant from admission to discharge
- Participation in daily rounds with the staff to set goals for their infant’s care and discharge
The NICU is equipped with family rooms, giving parents the opportunity to remain in close proximity to their infant and provide care for their infant prior to discharge.
