Careers in Radiology
A career in Radiology is challenging and fast paced. Technologists working in all areas of Radiology are registered technologists. [See Overview to Radiology Module] Since the field of Radiology is always changing it takes a very special individual to work in this field. New procedures and equipment require the technologist to continually learn new skills. At the same time, the technologist also must be able to demonstrate empathy, uphold confidences, give support and educate their patients. When a technologist successfully passes the Registry examination learning does not stop.
Lawrence & memorial Hospital is committed to providing the community with exceptional care. This commitment is seen by the educational support the Hospital provides staff. The Radiology staff takes this commitment very seriously. In turn, they willingly share their expertise and knowledge with students from imaging programs across the state. Students have the opportunity to work under the direct supervision of exceptional technologists. Since our technologists take pride in what they do, working with students allows them the opportunity to pass on their knowledge. It is their way to show our community that the care they give will continue on into the next generation.
