The Diagnostic Imaging Department encompasses many imaging modalities. Our shared vision is to provide exceptional patient care using state of the art procedures and equipment and at the same time appreciate the uniqueness of each patient.

This is accomplished by providing compassionate, kind, and individualized care. We understand that many of the procedures we perform may be similar but our patient's needs are uniquely individual. Our staff strives to meet this goal every day. We know that there is nothing routine about what we do.

We will "Offer excellent, safe care"
The clinical diversity of our department requires each modality to maintain strict safety standards supporting patient care. These standards are demonstrated by staff completing yearly and ongoing clinical competencies. Presentations given by physicians and staff introduce us to new procedures and techniques. Our vision is seen by our staffs passion and commitment to learn. Our quality goals are developed by our staff technologists, support staff, patient input and our Patient Safety Committee members. These goals are audited regularly. Staff knows that exceptional patient care and safety does not occur with one person alone. It takes our entire department to stay focused on safe and excellent patient care.

We will "Focus first on the well-being of our patients"
Our shared vision is for our patients to know imaging procedures performed at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital are performed by competent and highly skilled registered technologists. The procedures are administered in a safe manner and follow strict patient safety standards. Our Quality Assurance program regularly reviews the technical quality of our images. It sets the bar for us to advance and fine tune our skills. It is our shared vision that requires us to maintain a high level of patient care. This is the purpose of the Diagnostic Imaging Patient Safety Committee. This committee is attended by staff representing each modality. The committee reviews and audits all aspect of patient care. This is to ensure the well-being of our patients continues to be at the heart of our department.

We will "practice as an extraordinary team of passionate, innovative professionals"
The modalities within Diagnostic Imaging play a vital role in a patient's diagnosis. Our shared vision requires us to take an active role in the care a patient receives. Since we are part of the patient's healthcare team we take this commitment very seriously. Our shared vision is to ensure patient procedures are performed in an efficient, safe, and accurate manner. Our department is part of the Stroke Team as well as the PCI team. Our continued success in both of these programs is accomplished by staff that puts the needs of the patient foremost.
