Lawrence & Memorial Hospital was the first community hospital in the state to initiate patient controlled analgesia as well as epidural catheterization for pain control.
We service the following care for our patients

Inpatient Care
- Our inpatient program is a combination of both postoperative and acute services
- Postoperative pain management service is available on a consultative basis
- Acute pain management for such problems as fractures and other conditions are available for inpatients
- The Anesthesia Department also provides an obstetrical labor epidural analgesia program staffed around-the-clock by an in-house anesthesiologist
Outpatient Care
The outpatient pain management program treats a variety of "benign" pain problems
- Herniated vertebral discs
- Spinal stenosis
- Post herpetic neuralgia
- Neuropathies and other conditions
Consultations with psychologists, psychiatrists, or other specialists are arranged on an as needed basis through the clinic.
Cancer Pain Management and Palliative Care
Cancer pain and palliative care consultations, as well as case management, are also available to individual patients, the Community Cancer Center and oncologists
