BENCHMARK: Benchmarking is a structured approach for identifying the best practice and comparing and adapting them to the organization's operations. Such an approach is aimed at identifying more efficient and effective processes for achieving intended results. SEE OUR RESULTS FOR LENGTH OF STAY.

DURABILITY OF OUTCOME: The gains achieved that are maintained or improved 3 months after discharge from rehab.

FUNCTION: Includes: eating, grooming, bathing, toileting, bowel and bladder control, transfers, walking, communication, social interaction, problem solving and memory.

HOME: Home is defined as a private residence, transitional living or assisted living.

IMPAIRMENT GROUPS / ICD-9 CODE: An International Classification and coding system to categorize disease and disability.

The Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSmr) is a not-for-profit corporation associated with the University at Buffalo, the State University of New York. UDSmr provides rehab facilities with outcomes reports and national benchmarks.
