Infectious Diseases

Prevention, treatment and support, as well as an international traveler's health service.

The Infectious Disease Service (ID Service) of Lawrence + Memorial Hospital was created in April, 1989, in response to the anticipated numbers of persons living with HIV who would benefit from HIV specialty care in the southern part of New London County.

During the past twenty-five years, other services were added: care for persons with latent TB infection and disease, consultation by physician referral for infectious disease care and an International Travel and Tropical Disease Service. The mission of the Infectious Disease Service is to improve the health of the region in prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.
