Biography
Dr. Peter Hahn brings a unique background to the treatment of varicose vein disease, a field known as phlebology. After graduating from Harvard University and Cornell University Medical School, he completed his internship, residency, and two additional fellowships with board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and clinical cardiac electrophysiology (EP). After working in Boston, Dr. Hahn started the first cardiac EP program in western Massachusetts, where he practiced for almost a decade before returning to Connecticut to be closer to his family. Dr. Hahn then completed additional training under leaders in the field of Phlebology to smoothly translate his experience performing complex procedures inside the heart (by accessing peripheral and central veins more 10,000 times over the course of his career) into the treatment of patients with varicose vein disease.
Dr. Hahn’s training and experience as an internist allow him to form empathetic, lasting relationships with his patients and referring physicians, an increasingly rare aspect of medicine which he still values. In addition, he takes pride in helping patients feel better by performing minimally-invasive, office-based procedures at the highest ethical and clinical standards of care.
