Breast Procedures

Breast surgery at L+M is always tailored to the specific health needs and physical goals of each individual patient. Patients always receive detailed consultations and a full review of all appropriate options. Only then is the surgical procedure planned and scheduled.

For breast reconstruction L+M plastic surgeons can rebuild the breast mound to replicate the size and shape of the breast before the mastectomy. This can be accomplished with one's own tissue or with an implant. Surgeons can also add the nipple and the darker area around the nipple (areola) during reconstructive surgery.

Women who have had a lumpectomy are less likely to need reconstructive surgery, but in some cases it can also be offered.

For breast augmentation, either silicone or saline implants may be used for your procedure. In addition, a variety of different incisions may be used for placement of the implants, and the implants themselves can be placed behind the breast gland or even deeper behind the chest muscle.

A woman's breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes can result from pregnancy, aging or weight fluctuations. Breast lift surgery can raise and firm the breasts by removing excess skin and reshaping the breast tissues to create youthful breast contours.

Breast reduction surgery is often chosen when women are suffering from neck, shoulder, and upper back pain, but many women with large breasts also suffer from the psychological repercussions of their body image. During this operation, the breast is both reduced and lifted to also achieve a more youthful appearance. The end-result is a much more proportionate breast in relation to the body.
