Visitors are limited at this time. Visitor guidelines vary by department. Consult the patient’s care team for guidelines regarding your visit.

Exceptions to this policy may be made for:

  • neonatal ICU (NICU)
  • pediatric
  • obstetric
  • psychiatric units
  • end-of-life care
  • patients with disabilities who require a support person
  • and other extenuating circumstances

Bridgeport Hospital

Patients in the following categories will be allowed one (1) visitor per day. No visitor rotation or swapping will be permitted with the exception of end-of-life circumstances. These categories are limited to COVID negative patients only.

  • ICU: 10am – 6pm
  • Inpatients: 10am – 6pm
  • Inpatient Psychiatry: 4 – 6pm
  • Inpatients with planned surgery or procedure: 1 visitor the day prior to surgery
  • Patients with same day surgery: 1 visitor / support person to accompany patient
  • Emergency Department: 1 designated support person for duration of visit

Milford Campus

  • ICU: 10am – 6pm
  • Inpatients: 10am – 6pm

Greenwich Hospital

Visitors are currently not permitted except under the following circumstances:

Patients in the following categories will be allowed one (1) visitor per day. No visitor rotation or swapping will be permitted with the exception of end-of-life circumstances. These categories are limited to COVID negative patients only.

  • ICU: 2 – 6pm
  • Inpatients: 2 – 6pm
  • Patients with same day surgery: 1 visitor / support person to accompany patient
  • Emergency Department: 1 designated support person for duration of visit
  • Inpatient Pediatrics: 1 parent with patient
  • Labor & Delivery/Maternity: 1 visitor

L+M Hospital

Visitors are currently permitted under the following circumstances:

  • Inpatients over the age of 18 are allowed one visitor at a time from 1 – 8 pm each day.
  • Patients in the Emergency Department at L+M and at Pequot Health Center may be accompanied by one person.
  • Patients at our outpatient ambulatory facilities are allowed one visitor only if the patient needs assistance.

Westerly Hospital

Inpatients are allowed one visitor per patient, per day. Visitors must be age 18 or older.

Yale New Haven Hospital

Inpatient: Visitors must arrive between 2-7pm and must leave by 8pm daily, for patients on non-COVID units. Patients are allowed one visitor per day during visiting hours, with no changing of visitors on the same day allowed. Visitors are encouraged to limit their visit to two hours.

Outpatient: Patients coming for an outpatient medical office visit or to an ambulatory area, may now be accompanied by one individual throughout their visit to the extent possible. In certain areas where space is not conducive for visitors the leadership team will help seek an alternate waiting area when possible.

Northeast Medical Group/ Ambulatory/ COVID Vaccine

Patients are allowed one visitor only if the patient needs assistance.

While we have limited visitation for inpatients, we encourage you to use digital resources to connect with your family and friends in the hospital and to assist them with their care.

FaceTime

FaceTime is a free video calling app available on iPhone or iPad devices that allows you to make calls with your loved ones who also have Apple devices. Many of our inpatient units have iPads with FaceTime installed. Patients can ask someone from their care team for additional info.

Zoom

Zoom is a video conferencing app that can be accessed on smartphones, tablets or computers. There are both free and paid plans. Many of our inpatient units have iPads with Zoom enabled. Patients can ask someone from their care team for additional info.

MyChart Proxy Access

MyChart is a free, secure service that provides medical information about your or your loved one’s care at a Yale New Haven Health location. Parents, family members, legal representatives and other individuals may be given a MyChart account to communicate with a patient’s physician if they become authorized as a proxy.
