Monday, March 5, 2018

WALLINGFORD and NEW HAVEN, CT (March 5, 2018) – Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Yale New Haven Health announced today that they have reached a contract agreement that will maintain Yale New Haven Health and their hospitals (Yale New Haven, Bridgeport, Greenwich, Lawrence + Memorial and Westerly in Westerly, RI) in Anthem’s network through 2020.

“We are very pleased to have reached this agreement which ensures consumers can continue to have access to high quality, affordable care at Yale New Haven Health facilities. We value the relationship we have with Yale New Haven and their care providers and we look forward to continuing to work together to create a better health care experience for the consumers we serve,” said Jill Hummel, president, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

“Renewing our contract with Anthem 10 months ahead of schedule eliminates any potential for disruption of care, and allows us to continue our focus of helping our patients’ lead healthier lives, while also caring for them in times of illness,” Vincent Tammaro, Yale New Haven Health chief financial officer. “For years, thousands of Anthem members have chosen Yale New Haven Health. This new agreement will ensure that they will continue to have full access to safe accessible care throughout Connecticut and western RI.”
