“Move More” with the May 1 Heart Walk

April is national “Move More Month” – a great opportunity to prepare for the American Heart Association’s 34th annual Greater New Haven Heart Walk on Saturday, May 1. Walking, biking, even swimming laps all count for this year’s walk, which like last year, is digital due to COVID-19.

Yale New Hospital’s Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) is fielding a number of heart walk teams, along with Yale University, Yale School of Medicine and Northeast Medical Group, which collectively have set a $60,000 fundraising goal. Funds raised help support scientific research and advances related to heart disease and stroke.

Walk participants are reminded to follow COVID-protection guidelines. Yale New Haven employees and community members who are on an existing team or want to participate in the fundraiser can visit the AHA website to find a local heart walk, or contact Todd Boe of the American Heart Association, 203-295-2941, [email protected].
