Demolition of the Private Building on the Saint Raphael Campus started earlier this month, with the building being removed in smaller chunks to minimize noise and dust.

Over the next few weeks, crews will clear the rubble and prepare the site for the next phase of the Neurosciences and Bed Tower project. The area formerly occupied by the Private Building, convent and two houses that were previously demolished will be the site of the new Sherman Tower. The McGivney Tower will be built atop the existing McGivney Advanced Surgery Center.

Thank you to employees, patients and visitors for their patience during this work. Watch for ongoing communications about the Neurosciences and Bed Tower project.

A special demolition excavator began removing pieces of the Private Building on June 6. By the end of the day on June 9, the building was down and rubble removal was under way.
