Meteorologist helps young fan weather cancer treatment

meteorologist

Every weekday morning, Connor Ellis-Egan watches NBC Connecticut to see one of his favorite people: Meteorologist Bob Maxon. But when Maxon came to visit the 2-year-old at Smilow Cancer Hospital on July 13, it was hard to tell who was happier. “This is the best. This is the best thing ever,” Maxon said, as Connor gave him an extended hug. Connor is in remission from leukemia but receiving maintenance treatment at Smilow. Riding as Team Connor Strong, Connor’s family and friends will join other cyclists in the 13th annual Closer to Free Ride Sept. 9 to raise money for Smilow and Yale Cancer Center.
