bulletin

Staff from WP 2 Pediatric Specialty Center and WP 2 Diagnostic Imaging/X-ray were honored for working together to protect a mother and her baby who were accompanied by the baby’s father. The baby did not have an appointment, but the mother insisted she needed to be seen that day. Sensing the mother’s distress, front desk staff brought the mother to an exam room where she confided that the baby’s father was abusive and she feared for her safety. Working together, staff quickly and quietly got the mother and baby to a secure location while Protective Services escorted the father off hospital premises.

bulletin

Meir Dashevsky, MD, and Mae Flager, RN, Saint Raphael Campus Emergency Department, were honored for acts of caring and compassion on behalf of a grieving woman who experienced chest pain while at her deceased husband’s bedside. The woman needed an emergency cardiac catheterization, and though she did not want to leave her husband, Dr. Dashevsky and Flager convinced her to go to the York Street Campus cardiac catheterization lab. Before leaving the SRC, they arranged for the woman and her family to gather in the husband’s room to say farewell. The family expressed appreciation for the “extraordinary professionalism” Dr. Dashevsky and Flager displayed.

All employees, physicians and volunteers are eligible for the monthly PEACE recognition. Send nominations to: [email protected].
