YNHHS service makes healthy-living house calls

It’s like having a health expert perched on your countertop. In January, Yale New Haven Health launched free health tips through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to make it even easier to access information from our expert physicians and innovative services. Anyone with either of these voice services can receive daily health tips via their smart speakers on topics such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, family medical care and many others. Here’s how to get YNHHS health tips:

Enable skills and actions

On Amazon Alexa: Go to the Yale New Haven Tip of the Day on the Alexa skills store and click “Enable Skill.” Open your Alexa app and search “Yale New Haven” in the skills and games section. Click “Enable Skill.” Say, “Enable Yale New Haven Health tip of the day” using your Alexa-enabled device.

On Google Assistant: Go to the Yale New Haven Tip of the Day on the Google site, click “Send to Device” and select the device where you’d like to enable the skill. Say, “Launch Yale New Haven Health tip of the day” using your Google Assistant or Google Home-enabled device.

Add to your Daily Briefing

On Amazon Alexa: Go to settings > “Flash Briefing” and click “Get more Flash Briefing content.” Search for “Yale New Haven Health Tip of the Day.” Click the link for the feed and click “Enable Skill” to add it to your Flash Briefing.

On Google Assistant: Go to settings > assistant > “Routines.” Select a routine and click “Add Action.” Type “Launch Yale New Haven Health Tip of the Day.”
