Enhance your health and wealth: Know Your Numbers Plus launches this month

Yale New Haven Health’s annual Know Your Numbers Plus (KYN+) employee wellness rewards program launches May 20, and all employees are encouraged to participate to enhance their physical and financial health.

  • Benefits-eligible employees hired on or before June 23, 2019 can earn up to $500 in credit toward their 2020 YNHHS medical premiums.
  • All employees who have a KYN+ health screening will help achieve the 2019 PIP goal for participation.

“Many employees have commented that ‘knowing their numbers’ has been incentive to adopt healthier eating and fitness habits that, for some, are truly life-changing,” said Kevin A. Myatt, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “With this program, everyone benefits. Employees can improve their health and earn financial rewards, plus YNHHS has a healthier workforce to provide safe, extraordinary patient care.”

Benefits-eligible employees will soon receive a home mailing with details about this year’s program, including how to use the confidential RedBrick Health wellness portal to participate.

New for 2019

Based on staff feedback, a new personal choice activity is available this year. It focuses on resilience, which is a person’s ability to successfully address life’s stressors (see related article on resilience). Employees can access an online tool to assess their personal resiliency and link to additional resources to help build resilience.

Other KYN+ additions include the ability to earn $50 credit toward the $500 maximum credit by participating early (completing the health screening and resilience tool by Friday, July 12), and an increase in the credit earned for an annual physical or gynecology visit to $150 (compared to last year’s $50 credit).

2019 program overview

Knowing your “numbers” — cholesterol levels, blood pressure, blood glucose and height/weight/body mass index — provides important health information and can identify a health risk requiring attention. This is why a basic health screening is the core of the KYN+ program. All employees, including those who are not eligible for or who don’t enroll in YNHHS benefits, can have a screening at a YNHHS location. Benefits-eligible staff can also have a screening by their personal physician or at a participating CVS MinuteClinic.

Employees earning credit toward their 2020 YNHHS medical premiums earn $150 credit for their screening and up to $350 in additional credit by completing personal choice activities in one or more categories:

  • New online resiliency tool and education
  • Select preventive exams (annual physical or ob/gyn exam, and up to two dental cleanings)
  • Health/wellness coaching by YNHHS livingwellCARES
  • Tracking physical activity
  • Early participation incentive (health screening and online resiliency tool completed by Friday, July 12)

See the brochure you receive in the mail for details about eligibility periods for various activities. All KYN+ elements must be completed by Friday, Aug. 30.

KYN+ information will be available on the Infor Employee Space (click “Action Dashboard”); your organization’s intranet homepage; the RedBrick Health portal; and the HRConnect benefits service center (www.ynhhs.org/hrconnect or 844-543-2147).
