Planning under way for new employee intranet

Intranets – the employees-only, internal versions of the web – got their start in the mid-1990s, and it wasn’t long before Yale New Haven’s hospitals had their own internal networks.

Over the years, YNHHS’ intranets have undergone a few makeovers, but it’s time for more than a digital redecorating. In the coming weeks, Yale New Haven Health will launch a new intranet that will be easier to navigate, prominently feature the latest news and announcements and include some fun features. Of course, the new intranet will also have an updated look that reflects the YNHHS brand.

One particularly helpful new feature will be a “my links” section employees can customize, adding links to the intranet pages they visit most frequently.
While the YNHHS and each delivery network’s intranet home pages will change, the content of internal pages will remain. Departments that “own” those pages will continue to be responsible for updating them.

Watch for future communications about the new intranet.
