YNHHS moves to paperless billing

To deliver a more secure, convenient and eco-friendly way to view your bills, YNHHS switched to paperless billing for MyChart users on Jan. 3. Instead of receiving a paper bill by mail each month, MyChart users will now receive an email, text, and/or notification when they have a new Yale New Haven Health, Northeast Medical Group or Yale Medicine balance available for viewing. If you prefer a paper statement, you can opt out and change back to paper statements. For more information, visit Paperless Billing.

New fund helps cover non-tuition expenses for nursing students

With a significant donation from a grateful patient, Yale New Haven Hospital has created the Game Changer Fund to help nursing students with non-tuition expenses such as transportation, child care, food and housing. Supported by the Platt Family, the Game Changer Fund is for YNHH employees pursuing an associate degree or bachelor's degree in nursing. The fund is designed to remove some of the barriers that make it difficult for nursing students to stay in school, especially if they’re working full time. To learn more and request an application, email [email protected].

Wayfinding app guides patients, visitors to the right places

Yale New Haven Health’s free wayfinding app, Yale New Haven Go, is escorting patients and visitors to their destinations at locations across the health system using their mobile devices. The app uses GPS to guide people, step-by-step, to patient rooms, offices, cafeterias/vending machines, restrooms and other locations. Yale New Haven Go is available at Bridgeport, Greenwich, Lawrence + Memorial, Westerly and Yale New Haven hospitals, including Bridgeport Hospital’s Milford Campus and the Park Avenue Medical Center. The app also covers YNHHS emergency departments, walk-in/urgent care centers and Northeast Medical Group centers. People can download the app from Apple’s App Store or Google Play, or by scanning a QR code at each destination.
