The first of the first

Congratulations to the first graduates from the first class of Yale New Haven Health’s Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician (PCA/PCT) Registered Apprenticeship Program. More than 100 apprentices are receiving classroom and on-the-job instruction and mentoring through the program, which YNHHS launched last January. With help from the Connecticut Department of Labor and a $10 million federal grant, the program aims to train 1,250 PCAs/PCTs over the next four years. To learn more about the apprenticeship program, check out this video, or email [email protected]. Receiving their certificates at a Jan. 27 ceremony were (l-r): Allison Curnan, Thania Tlapalcoyoa, Diana Joseph and Ella Evans.
