Free film screening aims to start conversations on death and dying

Employees, patients and visitors are welcome to a free screening of the PBS/Frontline film, "Being Mortal," based on the best-selling book by Atul Gawande, MD, a surgeon at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The screening is at noon Monday, Jan. 30, Fitkin Auditorium at the York Street Campus, with a second showing at noon Wednesday, Feb. 1, Saint Raphael Campus Cronin Auditorium. A brief panel discussion will follow both screenings. The documentary, about caring for the dying, is sponsored by VITAS Healthcare and Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, YNHH's virtual hospice providers. The screenings are made possible by a grant from the John and Wauna Harman Foundation in partnership with the Hospice Foundation of America. To register, visit ynhh.org/events.
