Keeping our neighbors warm

warm

Yale New Haven Hospital’s support services team, which includes Protective Services, Food and Nutrition and Environmental Services, collected three large boxes of coats during a coat drive between Thanksgiving and the end of December. They recently donated the coats to New Haven Inner City Enrichment Center (NICE), which operates out of the New Haven Police Substation on Howard Avenue in the Hill neighborhood. Jamilah Rasheed and Mary Sorrells from NICE, who run this all-volunteer organization, will distribute the coats through their monthly food pantry for New Haven residents in need. Protective Services also collected and donated gift cards for women and children at the New Reach shelters and for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
