Employee flu vaccinations under way

YNHHS is rolling out the annual mandatory vaccination program this month. All employees and physicians, including those working remotely, must receive a flu vaccination or have an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of continued employment.

Due to social distancing requirements, employees must schedule a specific vaccination appointment. Employees may schedule their on-site flu vaccination by logging into Infor (in network), and selecting “Employee Health, Get Your Flu Vaccine” on the landing page. Vaccination dates and locations will be added throughout the coming weeks.

Flu vaccinations will be provided in multiple locations across the health system, including on patient care floors and at off-site and satellite locations. Employees are encouraged to sign up at a location closest to their work unit.

In addition to the YNHHS on-site locations, employees enrolled in a YNHHS medical plan may also obtain their flu shot from their primary care provider (PCP) or a participating pharmacy in the CVS Caremark vaccination network, which includes CVS and Walgreens.

If employees are vaccinated at CVS or Walgreens, or by a provider who is on Epic, documentation will be submitted to YNHHS automatically. If an employee receives a vaccination from a pharmacy or PCP that is not on Epic, the employee will need to submit documentation to YNHHS.

Details about all vaccination options, including how to submit documentation of vaccination by a PCP or pharmacy, are available on the Employee Self Service dashboard (in network), accessible through Infor (see “Employee Health, Flu Attestation” on the Infor landing page).

The deadline for employees to request a medical or religious exemption from receiving the flu vaccination was Sept. 30. (Employees who previously had a non-pregnancy related medical exemption did not need to submit another request.) Medical exemption requests will be approved or denied by Oct. 31. Religious exemption requests will be approved or denied by Nov. 16.

In addition to vaccination, all employees will be asked to complete the online flu module on the Infor Learning Management System (LMS).

The vaccination deadline for all employees and medical staff is Tuesday, Dec. 15.
