New Ronald McDonald House officially opens

After years of planning, fundraising and community support, the Ronald McDonald House of Connecticut (RMH CT) on Sept. 13 opened a new, 20-bedroom house directly across the street from Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. Yale New Haven leaders joined in a ribbon-cutting to open the new facilities, which will house the families of children receiving care at the Children’s Hospital. The new house features open space in common areas, large, comfortable bedrooms with private bathrooms, sunrooms and family lounges, a children’s playroom, teen room and family patio. It replaces the Ronald McDonald House on George Street. YNHCH provided land for the new house and other support for the project.
