National Pharmacy Week Oct. 19 - 23

YNHH pharmacists will staff information tables at both campuses to publicize their work during National Pharmacy Week, Oct. 19 - 23. Employees, patients and visitors can speak with a pharmacist and receive educational materials about the role of pharmacists and technicians on the healthcare team. At the York Street Campus, pharmacists will be in the Atrium 11 am - 2 pm Oct. 19, 20 and 23; at the Saint Raphael Campus, they will be in the cafeteria 11 am - 2 pm Oct. 19 - 23.

Healthcare Quality Week Oct. 19 - 23

During National Healthcare Quality Week, employees are invited to learn more about YNHH's quality improvement efforts at different events, including a kickoff at Morning Safety Report 8 am Monday, Oct. 19, Saint Raphael Campus Cronin Auditorium (video feed to NP 4, room 101a, York Street Campus). Other events include poster displays on quality improvement projects, 10 am - 2 pm Tuesday, Oct. 20, SRC Cafeteria, and 10 am - 2 pm Thursday, Oct. 22, YSC West Pavilion 2, upper-level Atrium. Throughout the week, quality and safety representatives from each service line will visit units at both campuses to share information on their work. Exploring Qigong workshop Oct. 29

Smilow Wellness Workshops continues its series with a free Qigong workshop, 5:30 - 7 pm Thursday, Oct. 29, 55 Park St. Auditorium. Qigong is a holistic practice of coordinated movements, breathing and meditation. The workshop will include a brief history of the practice and interactive demonstration. Compliance Week information fairs Nov. 4, 5

To mark National Corporate Compliance week Nov. 2 - 6, YNHHS's Office of Privacy and Corporate Compliance (OPCC) will hold information fairs, 11 am - 1 pm, Wednesday, Nov. 4, York Street Campus Atrium, and Thursday, Nov. 5, Saint Raphael Campus cafeteria. OPCC representatives will be available, along with information, educational games, prizes and giveaways.

Check out the latest technology at ITS expo Nov. 6

YNHHS' Information Technology Services department will hold "The Fast and The Curious" expo to showcase the latest products, applications and enhancements, 7 am - 4:30 pm Friday, Nov. 6, Saint Raphael Campus cafeteria conference room as part of National Health IT Week. View demos on new and enhanced applications and workflows, get tips on becoming more efficient with charting and learn about the MyChart patient portal and ITS projects in the works. ITS staff and Epic trainers will also be available.

Retirement healthcare workshops Nov. 10, 11

The hospital will hold Understanding Retirement Healthcare (Medicare) workshops for employees, noon - 1 pm Tuesday, Nov. 10, room CH 201, York Street Campus, and noon - 1 pm Wednesday, Nov. 11, Selina Lewis multipurpose room, Saint Raphael Campus. This workshop will cover important pre- and post-retirement healthcare decisions, including what Medicare does and does not cover. To register, call 866-712-9172, or visit www.metlifeplansmart.com. Saint Raphael Campus Founders' Day Nov. 5

All members of the YNHH community are invited to the annual Founders' Day celebration at the Saint Raphael Campus, 1:30 pm Thursday, Nov. 5 in the chapel. This year's program, themed "Gratitude for the Past Passion for the Present Hope for the Future," will reflect a diversity of roles and faith traditions. Participants will include Richard D'Aquila, president, YNHH; Chris O'Connor, executive vice president and chief operating officer, YNHHS, and other hospital leaders, staff, physicians and volunteers. Sister Rosemary Moynihan, general superior of the Sisters of Charity and a member of the YNHH board of trustees, will also participate. The service will be followed by a reception in the chapel vestibule. Introduced by YNHH in 2013, Founders' Day celebrates the legacy of caring of the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, founders of the former Hospital of Saint Raphael.
