YNHH’s 2020 United Way campaign is under way

Yale New Haven Hospital kicked off the 2020 United Way campaign Oct. 29 with an appeal to employees from Keith Churchwell, MD, YNHH president, to consider supporting the campaign.

“Yale New Haven Hospital and United Way share the same vision of creating stronger, more equitable communities where all families can live to their full potential,” Dr. Churchwell said in his appeal. “Our participation in the annual United Way campaign is an important demonstration of our commitment to this vision.”

YNHH has been a longtime supporter of United Way of Greater New Haven, which helps local service agencies working to ensure, among other goals, that children are educated and families are stable and secure. YNHH campaign chairs are Kathleen Bruenn, senior manager, Clinical Laboratory Services; Antonietta Hallet, simulation development strategy specialist, SYN:APSE Center; and Lynda Pasquarella, communications and logistics coordinator, Human Resources.

Because of Yale New Haven Hospital’s support last year, United Way was able to:

  • Serve 567,210 healthy meals to hungry children and families
  • Help 3,893 children and families overcome homelessness
  • Return $7.5 million to our community through free tax preparation
  • Provide in-school and after-school enrichment programs to 7,548 students and families

To support United Way, visit Infor and choose whether you want to donate via payroll deduction or make a one-time donation. If you are currently a donor and do not make any changes, your pledge remains the same. You may also make a one-time donation by credit card by visiting the United Way website.

The deadline to contribute to the campaign is Jan. 9, 2021. Payroll deductions begin in mid-January 2021.
