“You’re not by yourselves in this”: Community shows gratitude during challenging time
On April 6, K&J Tree Service unfurled a giant flag and posted a big “Thank You” sign outside the York Street Campus Emergency Department. Three days later, first responders from throughout New Haven County lined up firetrucks and other emergency vehicles on Howard Avenue, jumped out and applauded. “We want you to know, you’re not by yourselves in this,” New Haven Fire Department Chief John Alston Jr. said through a megaphone. “Thank you!”
