Mindfulness challenge offers opportunity to reduce stress

If you’ve been looking for ways to increase peace of mind and improve balance in your life, Employee and Family Resources’ upcoming mindfulness challenge could help. During August, participants will receive a brief, weekly video and simple daily activities designed to help them establish a mindfulness routine. Benefits of regular practice may include reduced stress, greater resiliency and increased focus and concentration. Participants who complete the daily challenge for five days each week will be entered into a grand prize drawing. The EFR mindfulness challenge begins Monday, Aug. 3, and is open to YNHHS employees and family members. Contact Bud Wassell, EFR coordinator, at 203-688-2280 or [email protected] to register. For more mindfulness resources, visit Employee Well-being and Resources (in network only) or the EFR website.

Diversity and inclusion instructor-led classes returning in August

Live, instructor-led diversity and inclusion classes will be held via Zoom and be available to all YNHHS staff starting in August. Registration is now open via the Infor learning management system. All materials and Zoom credentials will be provided one day before the class. Classes include “Ouch! That Stereotype Hurts,” “Defeating Unconscious Bias,” “LGBTQ - Cultural Competence,” “Cultural Competence in Healthcare” and “Generations Working Together Or Not.” Staff may enroll at any time for recorded e-learning modules, available via Infor (in network only). Continuing education credits are available for live and e-learning classes. For more information, contact Kwame Davenport, 203-502-6553 or [email protected].
