PPE “maskerades” as art

In June, Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz (left) and state Sen. Christine Cohen (right), joined quilters Janice Despotakis and Deb DeLillo to present a quilt made out of hand-sewn masks to Yale New Haven Hospital. Keith Churchwell, MD, (center) executive vice president and chief operating officer, was among the YNHH representatives at the presentation. In response to the COVID-19 surge, the quilting community made and donated more than 8,000 masks to Yale New Haven Health, helping to keep staff and patients safe.
