May 5 Heart Walk kick-off meetings held

The Heart and Vascular Center recently held kick-off meetings at both hospital campuses for employees interested in leading teams for the May 5 Greater New Haven Heart Walk. Keith Churchwell, MD, senior vice president, Operations, and executive director, HVC and Transplant, and clinical service coordinator, Medicine, spoke at the meetings. Yale New Haven’s HVC is a walk sponsor and, with Yale University and Yale School of Medicine, has set a $70,000 fundraising goal. The 31st annual walk, at Savin Rock, West Haven, will feature kids’ activities, health screenings and information, healthy snacks and lunch. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. YNHHS participants will each receive a T-shirt. Event day registration begins at 9 am; the walk at 10 am.
