Yale New Haven Health’s Digestive Health Center in Waterford offers patients access to the resources of one of the country’s leading health systems. Our specialized programs at this location include colorectal, bariatric, hernia and minimally invasive surgery.

Bariatric Surgery

Our comprehensive Bariatric Surgery Program serves patients with a body mass index (BMI) of 35 or higher, those living with type 2 diabetes and a BMI of 30 or higher, or anyone with a BMI between 30 – 34.9 who does not achieve substantial or long-term weight-loss or improvement on health issues using nonsurgical methods. Colorectal Surgery

Colon and rectal diseases encompass a broad range of conditions that can vary from mildly irritating to life threatening. Our surgeons work closely with your gastroenterologist or referring provider to offer a comprehensive treatment plan. Our surgeons are well versed in treatment of both non-cancerous and cancerous diseases of the colon, rectum and anus. Learn more.

Hernia

Hernias are very common. It is important to call your doctor if you suspect you have or suspect a hernia. Waiting too long to see a doctor could result in the need for emergency hernia surgery.
