New London, CT (Sept. 18, 2020) – Lawrence + Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that its Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit has been named a 2020 Guardian of Excellence Award® winner by Press Ganey for outstanding patient experience.
The Guardian of Excellence Award recognizes top-performing health care organizations that have achieved the 95th percentile or above for performance in Patient Experience. This is the first time the hospital has received the prestigious award.
The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a nationally recognized symbol of achievement in health care. Presented annually, the award honors organizations who consistently sustained performance in the top 5% of all Press Ganey clients for each reporting period during the course of one year.
The award recognizes the achievement of L+M’s Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit where patients are cared for by a multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, patient care assistants, physical, occupational or speech therapists, social workers, dietitians, physiatrist and other clinicians as needed. The L+M Rehab Unit provides a comprehensive approach to patient care by offering one-on-one, intensive therapy for patients from throughout the region with neurological disorders, trauma, limb loss, joint replacements and other conditions. The treatment plans are designed to reduce time spent in the hospital and improves recovery outcomes so that the patients can get back to work, living or play.
