Brian Feldman, MD, PhD, is a pediatric endocrinologist who specializes in treating hormonal disorders in children, including diabetes and conditions affecting growth and metabolism. He employs a comprehensive approach to care, using his expertise to improve the lives of young patients with complex endocrine challenges.
As the C.N.H. Long Professor of Pediatrics (endocrinology) at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Feldman conducts research on the role of steroid hormones in determining cell fate, with particular interest in obesity, type 2 diabetes, and the development of brown fat. His work aims to uncover new treatment pathways for metabolic conditions and has garnered significant recognition, including prestigious awards such as the Clinical Scholars Award from the Pediatric Endocrine Society and the NIH Director’s New Innovator Award.
Dr. Feldman received his medical and doctoral degrees from Stanford University. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Harvard University-affiliated Boston Children’s Hospital and pursued a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco.
