Chrisnel Jean, DO, is an emergency medicine specialist who has many years of experience. He is skilled in emergency critical care, evaluation, and treatment; trauma management; and the effective use of ultrasound in the emergency department.
“I’ve learned that it’s important to show compassion in the emergency department,” Dr. Jean says. “I try to provide comfort by compassionately explaining to them what their emergency room care will be like.”
For a doctor, one of the most interesting parts of working in the emergency room is being confronted with variety of medical cases every day, Dr. Jean says. Then the challenge becomes evaluating the different signs and symptoms, and providing the appropriate acute emergent medical care to help restore health to patients. Whatever is happening, it’s important to communicate with patients, he says. “I like to make sure they know and understand that improvement of their health is one of my utmost priorities.”
