Psychiatry and Behavioral Health

Overview

Lawrence + Memorial provides highly skilled and compassionate behavioral health care for a variety of conditions in children, adolescents and adults. Our psychiatry and behavioral health program emphasizes the individual, creating a therapeutic environment based on the individual’s needs and varying degrees of mental illness. Our interdisciplinary team develops a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan for each patient. The patient plays an important role by helping set goals, identifying personal strengths that will lead them through treatment and into recovery in each session. Family work is incorporated where necessary, especially in the care of minors.

We strive for individual patient’s long-term results. Our behavioral medicine program provides services that not only help patients adapt to the challenges they currently face but also help them thrive and maintain health throughout their lives. Whether through our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or structured outpatient services, the patient's needs, both emotional and physiological, must be fully met for progress to be realized.

Our services currently offer traditional therapy and medication management for majority mental health needs and are working to develop much-needed services such as substance use treatment in our community. We accept most insurances. Please check with your insurance company your specific behavioral health coverage.

Adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Patient care in Lawrence + Memorial Hospital’s intensive outpatient program (IOP) involves individual treatment plans aimed at helping each patient maximize personal goals for better health. The IOP is group therapy that provides services to adults who benefit from the structure of an intensive clinical program but do not require inpatient care. A psychiatrist or APRN provides medication as necessary. These groups give patients new skills to cope with and/or decrease their symptoms.
