Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

MR imaging uses high-field magnets and radiofrequency waves to allow physicians access to many applications, including neurology evaluation, orthopedic and cartilage assessment, and breast, vascular and cardiac imaging.

Located at our Waterford site, Lawrence + Memorial now offers the most advanced MR Imaging services in a magnet that is designed for maximum patient comfort. Our 3Tesla MRI offers extraordinary image quality to help your doctor make a more confident diagnosis and has an open design which accommodates different size patients and helps reduce anxiety and claustrophobia. The improved technology also allows for increased speed of most MRI exams. L+M Hospital also has 2 1.5Tesla magnets located at Pequot Health Center and at the Hospital's Main Campus.

Our Radiologists are all certified by the American College of Radiology. Our technologists are all registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed by the State of Connecticut. All of our technologists are also required to pass the specialty board in Magnetic Resonance by the ARRT. To further ensure the highest quality, both of our MRI units are accredited by the American College of Radiology.
