Infectious Diseases

The Infectious Disease Service (ID Service) of Lawrence + Memorial (L+M) Hospital founded in April 1989 and has continued to provide care in the southern part of New London County. The mission of the Infectious Disease Service is to improve the health of the region in prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.

Over the past three decades the Infectious Disease Clinic has grown to meet the needs of the community which includes: HIV/AIDS, Sexually transmitted diseases, Active/latent TB infection and disease, FUO, hardware associated infections, tick borne-associated infections, International Travel and Tropical Disease, and the vast array of common Infectious disease conditions that we treat and manage in the post-hospital care.

Please note that – with the exception of travel clinic, we do not accept self-referral of patients. Instead, we require the primary care physician or another consultant to make the referral to the ID clinic.
