Inpatient Psychiatry

We provide care and support to individuals with various psychiatric conditions including major depression, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, in our 17-bed adult treatment unit. The treatment team provides medication management, education and family support, depending on your individual needs.

During your stay, a team of mental health providers will work together to help you recover and return to health:

  • A doctor or advanced practice nurse(APRN) meets with you daily. They evaluate and diagnose your condition and help guide your treatment. They prescribe your medications. They can answer any questions that you and your family have about your condition.
  • Nurses and mental health counselors are here 24 hours a day. They will answer your questions, talk with you and help you with any problems you are having with your recovery.
  • Social workers and case managers will meet with you regularly to help you with follow up appointments and discharge plans. They talk with you, your family, outpatient providers and your insurance company.
  • Occupational therapy provides assistance in identifying important roles along with strengths and weaknesses, building skills in order to promote positive change through both psychoeducational and recreational/social groups along with individual intervention as needed. As part of skill development, recreational therapy services may also be offered by providing social group activities.
