Patient care in Lawrence + Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Outpatient and Dual Diagnosis programs involve individual treatment plans aimed at helping each patient maximize personal goals for better health.
The IOP and Dual Diagnosis IOP treat patients ranging from 18 to 85. Patients may have been diagnosed with any number of conditions including anxiety disorders like Panic Disorder, or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, mood disorders like Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder and personality disorders.
Approaches to treatment in both programs include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Holistic Therapy focused groups. The Dual Diagnosis IOP includes groups such as Relapse Prevention and Identifying Triggers to Substance Abuse. These groups give patients new skills to cope with and/or decrease their symptoms.
Patients, however, have the most important role in their own treatment plans, helping to set goals and identify personal strengths that will lead them through treatment and into recovery.
Graduates of our programs report using the skills they learned years later and rely on these skills to get them through difficult times.
Our licensed clinicians offer individualized treatment plans, and we are committed to providing our patients with excellent evidence-based care. Patients are provided psychiatric medication management with board certified psychiatric professionals including psychiatrists and advanced practice registered nurses.
Morning sessions are available 3 three days per week. Call 860-444-5141 for more information.
Most patients who participate in the IOP and Dual Diagnosis IOP are currently in outpatient treatment or have recently completed rehab but desire more instruction and practice of coping skills. In addition, they may have recently completed inpatient treatment and would benefit from the structure and skills development along with medication management and careful diagnostic evaluation.
